Welcome to the
Internet Society South Africa Chapter!

We are dedicated to promoting an open, secure, and accessible internet for all South Africans. As a chapter of the global Internet Society, we work tirelessly to ensure that the internet remains a force for good, empowering individuals and communities across the nation.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advocate for policies that support an open internet, foster innovation, and promote digital literacy. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to benefit from the internet's vast potential, regardless of their location or background.

What We Do

Advocacy: We engage with policymakers, businesses, and civil society to promote internet policies that enhance access, security, and innovation.

Education: We provide resources and training to help South Africans develop the digital skills needed to thrive in the modern world.

Community Engagement: We collaborate with local communities, hosting events and workshops to raise awareness about the importance of an open and secure internet.

Community Networks: We create and support the development of community networks, bringing reliable internet access to underserved and remote areas, fostering digital inclusion and empowerment.
